POSITION SUMMARY:  This position reports to the Director of Project Management and directly supports one or more Project Managers in day-to-day coordination of project management activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Facilitates the preparation and implementation of work plans for discrete scopes of work.
  2. Coordinates and expedites cross-functional scopes as assigned.
  3. Develops and maintains various project logs (decisions, issues, risks)
  4. Coordinates and tracks interfaces with other projects.
  5. Monitors work in progress and prepares periodic (nominally weekly) reports on the status of each assignment.
  6. Develops and maintains relevant and timely information on project websites.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

  • Education: S. degree in engineering, construction management, accounting, or business is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a project oriented work environment, preferably in the power or nuclear industries.
  • Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
  • Overall Job Knowledge and Performance:   Understanding of engineering, manufacturing, construction and/or IT projects and terminology based on past project work. Strong technical writing and presentation skills. Good communication, computer, presentation and interpersonal skills. Exceptional organization skills and ability to manage complex projects with multiple work phases.
  • Skills: Demonstrated leadership capability. Familiarity with project management principles. Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) or equivalent professional certification is preferred. Ability to interface with engineering and regulatory affairs staff on technical topics with sufficient understanding to effectively communicate summary information to management. Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail. A highly proactive work ethic.
  • Quality Assurance: Demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1 preferred.
