Task Manager – Farley Nuclear Plant – Dothan, AL

Project/Work Scope:  U2/U1 NSSS / SGFP Speed Control Upgrade

Work Environment for this Assignment:  : Individual will work in the office 50% of the time while remaining time will e on the job site in the field.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Review of design change packages for constructability, installation, and material requirements.
  • Work with a planner to ensure work orders for physical modifications are in accordance with applicable procedures.
  • Work with the contractor as well as the scheduler to develop and update implantation schedules for all field work.
  • Assures field implementation is conducted in accordance with the approved design change packages and FCRs
  • Act as Task Director per procedures, for the contractor performing the field work and any outside vendor installation and start up.
  • Perform weekly observations on craft performing the work.
  • Attend and support pre-job briefs to ensure craft and/or vendor follow Farley requirements and expectations.
  • Able to work nightshift and weekends when requested.

Other Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years supervisory, planning, and/or construction experience at a Nuclear Facility
  • Maximo Proficiency
  • Previous experience with Farley Nuclear Plant desired
  • Must be able to obtain unescorted access

Physical Requirements:  Walking and standing during testing otherwise at a desk

Position requires unescorted access to the protected area of a nuclear plant.

Estimated Start Date:  2 weeks upon official offer
Estimated Duration of Work Assignment:    Less than 1 year
Pay Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate’s requested rate
Per Diem: $93.94 / day ($657.60 per week)
Mob / Demob: $500.00 each ($1,000 total)

Job Summary

Provide field oversite of supplemental workers and craft in project related activities including safety, human performance, compliance, and efficiency. This individual will be responsible for preparation and execution of the project scope.

Job Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing field observations of in-progress work.
  • Providing feedback to workers on performance, including intervention to reinforce standards and develop acceptable behaviors.
  • Developing materials for presentations
  • Holding and participating in meetings

Job Experience

  • Previous Nuclear power plant experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction processes preferred.
  • Previous experience maintaining department budget preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be well organized and capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Must have strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work in any environment demanded of the work force, including temperature extremes and elevations.
  • Must have an understanding of working within a Union contract and a working knowledge of plant maintenance and shop practices, with aptitude in all disciplines.
  • Must have a working knowledge of OSHA and NRC requirements and be familiar with power plant design and function.
